At the Kings County Hospital on Wednesday January 24, 2018, the passing of Barbara Carolyn (MacLure) Mecher occurred with her family by her side. Born in Montague on March 19th, 1932, she was the daughter of the late John Charles and Ruby (Campbell) MacLure. Barbara was a graduate of the PEI Hospital School of Nursing class of 1953. She will be dearly missed by her children, Karen (John) Abbott of Dartmouth NS, John (Sandra) Mecher of Toronto Ont.,and Mary (Scott) Carlson of Los Angeles California; Grandchildren, Mathew Tufts, Lindsay (Nathan) Metzger, Noah Tufts, Nathaniel Mecher and Tyler Mecher; Great granddaughter Adelaide and a sister in-law Maxine MacLure and several nephews. Besides her parents Barbara was predeceased by a brother Barrie MacLure and a grandson Andrew Abbott. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday January 29th, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to take place at a later date.
