John passed away on January 29th at his home in Berwick House in Victoria, B.C. with family at his bedside, and a smile on his face. John was born in Stanley, N.S. on Oct 9, 1923 to Hugh and Elizabeth Logan, the second of six siblings. John was predeceased by his wife of 52 years Joan (Whalley), his brothers, Carson, Don and Hugh. He is survived by his sons, Ian of Edmonton and Hugh (Peggy) of Lakeside, P.E.I. his two grandsons, Daniel (Kelsey) and Sean of Edmonton, sisters Gertrude and Kay (Bill), and sisters-in-law Marthe and Peggy. John had a distinguished career in the Canadian Navy as a pilot, during his 26 years of service. He retired to the Annapolis Valley in N.S. in 1968 and later became a real estate broker until his second retirement in 1990. He and Joan moved to Victoria later in 1990 to join both relatives and naval colleagues. Soon after Joan passed in 2005, John moved in to Berwick House seniors' residence where he enjoyed his final years with many dear friends. The family would like to express appreciation to the staff and personal care workers at Berwick House for their exceptional care of John.
