Wendy Jean (Mills) MACDONALD

Wendy Jean (Mills) MACDONALD

Date de décès : 3 février 2018

Precious memories and faith with help sustain us as we mourn the loss of our beloved Wendy on February 3, 2018. Wendy was the epitome of wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Wendy leaves to mourn her loving husband of 48 years, Wayne (Gussie); sons, Stephen (Dinette) and Scott (Angie), and cherished granddaughter, Rees. She was always so proud of their personal and individual accomplishments.
Predeceased by parents, Albert and Florence; brothers, Albert, Ralph, Greg, Gilbert and Herbie Mills, and survived by family members, Betty, Renne, Alice, David, Billy, George and Bobby. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law. Many treasured friends will also mourn her loss.
Throughout her lifetime, Wendy performed exemplary service to her Lord, working faithfully to try and fulfill the powerful message - “To love one another”.
With every encounter Wendy’s light shone as she worked selflessly and lovingly to provide hope and inspiration. Her many friends from her 30 years at CBC to numerous community involvements including church, bible study, exercise class, ecumenical women’s conference, could not help but feel the impact of her genuine love and concern. Most of us have been recipients of her thoughtfulness and beautiful cards. Wendy was a member and elder of Bethel Presbyterian Church, but also cherished her church family from Christian Fellowship Church.
Wendy was beautiful inside and out, her spirit emanating from her innate qualities of grace, warmth, kindness and compassion from her love filled heart. Those of us who were privileged to share in her journey can attest to the many life lessons she has passed on including integrity, honesty, perseverance, courage, acceptance, commitment, and the power of love, faith, and forgiveness.
Wendy was always aware of her connectedness to something much greater. Therefore, all moments shared with family and friends (including those with 4 legs) represent cherished memories filled with joy and gratitude.
Wendy was her happiest during summer preparations, tending to her flowers and entertaining family and friends at their cottage in Marion Bridge. Many will remember the wonderful Canada celebrations on the beautiful Mira. Her number one joy of course was the treasured moments she shared with her precious Rees.
Wendy wanted us all to know she is with the Lord. Let us honour her legacy of love and compassion by allowing her light to continue to shine within us.
Visitation will take place at 12 p.m. on Tuesday with a Celebration of her life to follow at 2 p.m.; both in the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Mattatal officiating.
Wendy has also requested for those wishing to make donation in her memory may consider The An Cala Palliative Care Unit and Aileen’s Pets without Vet.
