It is with sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of a dear husband, dad, pop, brother and uncle. On March 9, 2018 Walter John Boland passed away at the Health Sciences Center surrounded by his loving family and friends. Left to mourn a lifetime of wonderful memories, his wife of 44 years, Ev, son Corwin (Carmen) daughter Krista (Rodney), his four grandchildren who he absolutely adored: Erin and Emma McDonald, and Declan and Dannan Boland, sisters Ann Gushue, Nellie Boland and brother Carl Boland, special nephews Billy (Tina) and Carl Gushue and great-Niece Emily Joudrey; brothers-in-law Edgar (Drusilla), Hawkins, Bernard (Diane) Hawkins, Jerome (Peggy-deceased) Sullivan, Moiz (Sharon-deceased) Balkhi, sisters-in-law Mamie (David) Sullivan, and Lynn (Tony) Curran and their families. Walter will be missed by his many friends and extended family at the Dialysis Unit, Waterford Hospital and the “Best Neighbors” he could have asked for. Predeceased by his parents Will and Till Boland, brother Joe Boland and niece Sandy Gushue. Resting at Ryan’s Funeral Home Bay Bulls, Sunday March 11th, 2-9pm and Monday March 12th, 2-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial to take place from Immaculate Conception R.C Church, Calvert, Tuesday March 13th, 2018, 11am. Interment to follow at Holy Trinity R.C. Cemetery, Ferryland. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations can be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice.
