On Saturday, March 10, 2018, while in the presence of her loving family, our caring and dedicated mother and “Nan”, Elizabeth “Liz” Hayward (nee Ryan) slipped gently into the arms of her dear husband Fergus. She is happily reunited with her devoted son Alfred, her parents Bridget Ann and Tom Ryan, son-in-law Brian, grandson Andrew; siblings: Magdalen, Pete (Bridgie), Tom (Mary), Martin (Kit), Paddy (Bridget) and all pre-deceased members of the Hayward family. She dearly loved her wonderful family, especially her darling daughters; Eileen (Sam), Daphne (Austin), Dianne, Sheila (Eric) and Joan; her treasured sons: Brian (Patricia), Gerard (Doreen), Fergie (Verna), Andy, Eugene (Kathleen) and Hilary (Sharon). She leaves behind many cherished grandchildren; Kyle (Shyla), Kara (Ian), Jordan (Mary), Mark (Kari), Glenda (Paul), Janice (Leon), Lorie, Lydia, Emma, Brad (Randi), Bradley, Mara, Nicholas, her “miracle man” Owen (and their mother Lisa), John-Paul, Patrick, Cassie, Candace, Dale (Kaitlin), April (Chris), Colin (Kerrie), Krista (Geoff), Dylan (Erika), Ryan (April), Cole, Amy; great-grandchildren: Madison, Kennedy, Carter, Kain, Kellan, Lilah, Charlotte, Hannah, Madison, Mason and Kailee, her very special sister Josephine (Bill-deceased), and sister-in-law Catherine (Kevin-deceased). She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by many other relatives and friends including her “card game buddies” and dancing partners, her "car pals": Mary, Geraldine and Annie, her lifelong friends: Nance, Bernadette, Beatrice, Edna, Mona and Mary Molloy and her loving homecare workers Janice and Bernadette. Mom lived life to the fullest. She loved to dance, laugh and have fun. She was a strong, classy, caring, devout woman who was inspired by our spiritual leader Fr. Steve Courtney. She enjoyed cooking up a feed for the crowd, sewing and beating everyone at the card games. She took great pride in making her house a well kept loving home. Her door was always open. We will miss her big smile and loving embrace. Resting at Fr. Battcock Memorial Chapel, St. Vincent's, on Sunday March 11, from 4:00 – 9:00pm and Monday, March 12, 10:00am – 4:30pm; 7:00 – 9:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 13, at 11:00am, at Sacred Heart Church, St. Vincent’s. Burial to follow.
