We are saddened to announce the death of our kind and sweet father Raymond ‘Goodlord’
Hogan, surrounded by his loving family. Raymond passed away peacefully on March 27, 2018
in New Waterford Hospital at the age of 78.
Born March 8, 1940 he was the son of the late Peter and Florence (Beaton) Hogan.
Raymond worked in the coal mining industry until his retirement from Devco in 1991. His
children remember him as a kind, gentle and patient father who encouraged them to pursue their goals. He was a generous, witty and dedicated father and husband who loved the company of his
children and grandchildren. He especially loved to attend and cheer on his grandchildren at
sporting events whenever possible. He was an active and dedicated member of his community
and volunteered for many causes. Goodlord enjoyed long walks and spending time up town with
his many friends over a cup of coffee. An enthusiastic sports fan, he enjoyed playing darts and
spending time with family, close friends and relatives watching a game.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 56 years, Fray (MacPherson); children, Raymond, Lori (Gary) Delaney, Brent (Monique) and Arlene (Sandy) Campbell; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Colin Delaney; Ryan and Amy Hogan; Brady and Ethan Campbell.; siblings, Rachel Ryan, Whitby, ON and Wayne Hogan, Slave Lake, Alberta. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by siblings, Shirley, Brenda, Mildred and Doreen, Greg, John and Peter.
The family would like to send a special Thank You to his loving sister, Rachel Ryan for
her love and support, to his hospital roommate, Paul White for his assistance and kindness,
and to his close friends, Kenny and Aggie Timmons, Ben and Lima Edelenbos and Richard
and Shannan Slusarek for their time and attention. Also, Dr, Farrell and the staff on 2nd
Floor of the New Waterford Hospital, the VON and the New Waterford Home Makers
for their care and compassion.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 10 a.m. with a chapel service at 11 a.m.
with Deacon Leo Penny officiating followed by a luncheon at the Army, Navy & Airforce, Smith Street and all are welcome.
