The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his wife and sisters at the Souris Hospital on Sunday, April 1, 2018 of Francis V. “Gentle Ben” Murphy, age 66 years, formerly of Elmira, P.E. Loving husband to Shirley Murphy (nee MacLaren). He is survived by his five sisters Sylvia Murphy, Linda Earl (Ted), Marlene Ludwig, Tina Moriarity (Ed), Bernadette Murphy, special nephew Gregory Murphy (Patricia), sister-in-law Pauline Peters (James), and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Jean and George Murphy, and brother-in-law John Ludwig. A visitation will take place at Dingwell Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 5-9 p.m., and Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until funeral time. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Columba Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.
