Gail Baerwald passed away peacefully at the age of 76 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on Tuesday April 3, 2018.
She was born in Melfort, Saskatchewan on September 7, 1941 to Mort (George Morrison) and Gertie (Mary Gertrude McKee) Marshall.
Gail is survived by her husband William (Bill) Baerwald of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, her son John (Jennifer Eccles) Salm, daughter Laurelee Newell, stepsons Curtis (Belinda) Baerwald and Todd Baerwald, grandchildren Chelsey, Cherish, Jessica, Kellie, Blaze, Breeze and Madyson, brother Bill (Sue Carder) Marshall, sisters Veronica Marshall and Wendy (Lewis) McDougall, sister-in-law Betty Babcock and by several nieces, nephews, family and dear friends.
Gail was predeceased by her parents Mort & Gertie, brother Robert (Bob) Marshall, brother-in-law Clayton Babcock, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Gail loved to stay busy and was very active. She loved the water including swimming, lifeguarding in her teens, and boating with Bill at Candle Lake. She loved to watch her children speed swimming or diving and she volunteered at the swim meets in Melfort. Gail and Bill spent hours with friends playing bridge and other card games and socializing at pot luck dinners and get togethers in Melfort, Candle Lake, Mesa Arizona and Prince Albert. She loved listening to Bill play music at many events and the two of them also loved to dance. Gail was always busy doing crafts including card making, scratch art, beading & canvas art, genealogy, quilting, and many more activities. She loved to teach and help others be it with card making, her leadership for training with Stephen Ministries, or volunteering with the church, community and camps for kids. Gail was a devote Christian.
Gail was a social worker in Melfort for many years and learned many roles. She worked tirelessly with runaways, handled adoptions and trained Foster Parents. She was passionate about her work and her family. Gail hosted many family occasions and loved having everyone together. She will be sadly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Kerry Vickar Centre in Melfort, SK. with Pastor Randy Fiege officiating. Memorial donations may be made directly to the Canadian Diabetes Association. To leave condolences for the Family, please visit the online guestbook at www.fedusiakfuneralchapel.com. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fedusiak Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Melfort.
