He went on to earn a diploma in business administration at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute and pursued careers in accounting and construction until he decided to change direction and pursue a career in prospecting. His tireless work ethic and entrepreneurial energy and vision led to his discovery of the world-class Voisey’s Bay nickel-copper-cobalt mine along with his business partner Chris Verbiski. A strong, self-reliant man and fearless fighter, Albert believed passionately in the resource potential of Newfoundland & Labrador and dedicated his prospecting career to creating economic opportunities that would help build prosperity for Newfoundlanders & Labradorians.
