Peacefully at home in Cardigan, the passing of Evelyn Angela McGillivray age 95 devoted wife of the late Maurice Joseph McGillivray, occurred on Monday, April 9, 2018 with her daughters by her side. Born in Sturgeon on July 9, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Elizabeth (Lanigan) Murphy. Evelyn is survived by her loving daughters, Brenda McGillivray, Wanda (Ray) Donaldson and Roma McGillivray; cherished grandchildren, Raeanne (Dan) Bohemier and Shane Donaldson; adored great grandson, Rémi Bohemier; sister, Marion (Billy) Lanigan; sister-in-law Dorothy Murphy; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Blair; sister, Margaret (Don) Gooding; brothers, Harry, Ira and Jimmy Murphy. Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with visiting on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Thursday, April 12 at 10 a.m., from All Saints Catholic Church, Cardigan. Interment to take place in the Parish Cemetery. Donations to the Montague Home Care Nursing Staff or the Church Building fund would be appreciated.
