It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving and dear mother Virginia ‘Ginny’ Stewart-MacLean on May 16, 2011.
Mom was born in Inverness, and raised in Glace Bay. She was a daughter of the late Clarence and Hilda (Doyle) Stewart.
Mom leaves behind to mourn, her pride and joy, son, Gary (Jean) Stewart, Barrie, Ont.; daughters, Laura (Dion) MacLean and Ashley (Kurt) Ferguson, both of Glace Bay; loving grandchildren, Justin and Gary Jr. Stewart, Jarrod MacLean and Cameron Ferguson; brothers, Robert Stewart, Charles (Barb) Stewart; sisters, Marg (Don) Vaters and Kate (Adrian) Bona, all of Glace Bay; and many nieces and nephews.
Mom was predeceased by brothers, Donald Stewart, Clarence (Gary) Stewart and Angus Reid, sister, Virginia Ann and granddaughter, Garilynn Stewart.
In mom’s earlier years she worked as a supervisor at the General Instruments Plant in Sydney and also worked as a secretary for Dr. Chokshi’s Glace Bay clinic.
Mom was an angel on earth and now she has her wings. She will be forever missed by everyone who knew her. As we reflect on our mom’s life we take comfort in knowing she is finally home with her mom and dad.
A memorial service celebrating Mom’s life will be held in Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay, on Friday, May 20 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to charity of choice.
