It is with great sadness that we, the family of Valerie Margaret Robinson, age 64, regret to announce her passing on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Halifax, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Nellie (Keating) Robinson.
Valerie taught school for 32 years and started her teaching career in Ile Madame and continued teaching French and English in various schools throughout Sydney and Glace Bay.
Valerie’s passion was horses and was an excellent equestrian and western rider. She won numerous ribbons and accolades for her showmanship and riding abilities.
Valerie is survived by her brother, Ken; sisters, Sandra and Heather; a very special aunt, “Iva”; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation.
A celebration of Valerie’s life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at T. J Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS 902-849-4199
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the An Cala Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney or the Cancer Society.
