It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Marie Swan-Dandy. She passed away peacefully on April 9, 2018 at Northside Community Guest Home, North Sydney at the age of 84.
She is survived by sons, Thomas, Theodore and Percy; daughters, Rose, Lena and Joanne; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Clarence Dandy; sons, Jim and Joseph; daughters, Anne Marie and Catherine, as well as granddaughter, Bailey.
Born in East Bay and raised in Beaver Cove. Marie was strong, resilient, fiercely independent, feisty and funny. One of the toughest broads Cape Breton has ever met. She was one of a kind. She also had a great fondness for animals, especially Scooter.
There will be a private family Graveside service held at a later date.
