William ‘Bea’ Miles

Date de naissance : 7 décembre 1930

Date de décès : 28 avril 2018

Bea died peacefully at home on April 28, 2018. Born in Birchgrove, December 7, 1930, he spent almost all of his 87 years on Lake Road in Glace Bay.
He had three loves- music, family and God. Bea was best known for his beautiful baritone voice, his peaceful violin tunes and his haunting saxophone. He grew up in a house filled with music; both his parents were musicians, and all the brothers and sisters played instruments and sang.
Bea was predeceased by his parents, William B Miles and Marjorie (Hillier) Miles; his brothers, John (Hilda) Miles and Gus Miles; two sisters, Mary Miles and Evelyn (John R.) McDonald; brother-in-law, Edward MacLead, and niece, Michelle (Fougere) Cormier.
He is survived by his loving sister, Joan (Miles) MacLeod.
Bea was lovingly supported and cared for by Marjorie and Lou Fougere and Janelle and Jeff Osborne. His wish was to remain in his family home “forever”, and we saw to it that he indeed was granted his wish.
There are many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews who will miss him and he was even called Grandpa Bea by Janelle Osborne and Jenet Campbell and Great Grandpa by Campbell, Logan and Isabella.
Bea was a devote Christian, he prayed the rosary several times a day and God was his strength and constant companion.
As per his request there will be no visitation or flowers.
We, his family, are stronger and kinder because Bea was in our lives. He tested our courage and delighted in our successes.
Arrangements under the care and guidance of Curry's Funeral Home, 775 Main St. Glace Bay.
Condolences may be sent to currysfuneralhome.com.
