It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Leo E. Vassallo who passed away peacefully at home on April 28, 2018. He was a devoted loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He was the son of the late Frank and Elva Vassallo, of Sydney Forks.
He is survived by his wife, Karen (Macdonald), 29 years of marriage; two sons, Ricky and Darren, all of Sydney Forks; sisters, Louise, Lorraine, Linda and Lisa; brother, Lonnie, and many nieces and nephews.
He was a proud welder and member of Union 682. He loved fishing and making his own hooks for fly-fishing. He was a great sportsman (Olympic Greco Roman Wrestling). He was an active member of The Society of Deaf & Hard of Hearing. He was well respected friend in his community.
Visitation will take place, Thursday, May 3 at 12-2 p.m. and a Service to celebrate his life to follow at 2 in the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St, Sydney. Rev. Sheldon Chant to officiate.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the The Society of Deaf & Hard of Hearing, in loving memory of Leo E. Vassallo.
