Born in Amherst, NS, he was a son of the late Seward and Isabel (Spicer) Milner.

Gordon was a man of many talents; he could fix anything. He was very meticulous and things were always in their place. He was an avid snowmobiler and always looked forward to lots of snow. He was also trail warden and spent many hours clearing trails and building bridges for snowmobilers and ATV's. He loved a good time, was a member of the Knights of Pythias, and donated round bales to farms out west during the drought.
After Gordon and his wife Karen retired from the prison, they did some traveling, spent time at their place in Tidnish, enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren. They enjoyed snowmobiling, four wheeling, and loved each other unconditionally.
