George Seward Lewis

George Seward Lewis

The fiddles will be playing as the gates of heaven open wide to welcome their newest angel.
Born in Edwardsville, George, 78, was the son of the Late George Lewis and Margaret (Brick) Rudderham.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Sheila (Carver) of 58 years; his children, Stephen (Donna), Fredericton, Brian (Mary), Edwardsville and Gail (Andrew), Fredericton, and of course his pride and joy, his grandchildren, whom he had nicknames for each and every one, Courtney ‘Tweety’ (Tony), Dr. Brad Lewis ‘Josh’ (Dustin), Ryan ‘Diggler’, Coady ‘Polo’, Hailey ‘D.L.’, and great-grandchildren, Hunter ‘Mama’ and Rachael ‘Nono’. He is also survived by his sister, Alice Robertson; brothers, Hollis (Cathy), Allan (Debbie), Earl Rudderham (Marie), as well as brother-in-law, Doug Carver (Donna), and sister-in-law, Sandra Lewis (Richard).
George had a huge heart and would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He worked as a plumber/pipefitter for 40 years as a member of local 682. In his younger years, he was an avid boxer, a member of sea cadets and also a member of the Westside Legion Branch 126 for 35 years.
His passion was working in his vegetable garden, while listening to his Scottish fiddle music.
We would like to thank the doctors and nurses of 4B and Palliative Care of the CB Regional Hospital.
George is truly loved and will be greatly missed by our family.
At George’s request there will be no visitation or services. There will be a celebration of his life held Saturday, May 12, from 2-4 p.m. at the W.I.N.S. Hall in Edwardsville. Please join us!
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the cancer society.
Fly high our angel,
Until we meet again!
