Marjorie Lea Faulkner

Marjorie Lea Faulkner

"A life is like a good day’s work, it is now done and I am satisfied."
The death of Marjorie Lea Faulkner (Dixon) occurred with grace and dignity on May 8, 2018.
Throughout her 98 1/2 years she maintained a keen curiosity and a tremendous passion for life; while she gathered new friends wherever life's journey took her.

She was born Oct.7, 1919 in DeSable, PEI, the daughter of the late Jack and Edna Dixon.
She was predeceased by her husband and best friend Wyman "Red" Faulkner. Marjorie was the last member of the family, having been predeceased by a sister Gladys in infancy, brother Gordon in 1958, sister Dorothy in 2010, and brother MacKenzie "Mac" in 2011.

She spent her early years at the family homestead then as a teenager voyaged to Massachusetts where she later settled and met the love of her life, Wyman "Red" Faulkner.
They married in 1941 and spent many years together working with the Jackson family. Every summer they returned to South Melville, much to the great excitement of the Dixon nieces and nephews who eagerly anticipated their arrival.

Following their retirement in 1974 they spent many enjoyable winters with friends in Florida and returned to the homestead in PEI where Marjorie’s mother Edna resided. In 1991 they moved to Charlottetown where they lived until Red’s death in 1995. Marjorie later moved to Calgary, where in her 80s she drove home twice to PEI with her cousin Ralph Taylor with whom she resided and cared for. In 2007 she moved back to PEI, rekindling old friendships, making new ones, and leading an active, happy, and fulfilling life.

Left to cherish a lifetime of Marjorie’s memories are her nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as many friends here and in the United States, particularly the Jackson family whose kindness and support she has appreciated for many years.

Marjorie would like to thank the wonderful nurses, staff, relatives, and friends who cared for her, especially in the final chapter of her journey.

In accordance with Marjorie's wishes cremation has taken place with a private burial. A celebration of the life of Marjorie Faulkner will be held June 24 from 2 p.m to 4 p.m. at Rodd Royalty Inn in Charlottetown.
If so wished, donations in Marjorie’s memory may be made to Crapaud People’s Cemetery.

Well, this is the end of a perfect day
The end of a journey too.
And it leaves a thought that is big and strong
With my wish that is kind and true.
For memory has painted this perfect day
With colors that will never fade.
May we find at the end of a perfect day
The souls of our friends we've made.
