It is with great sadness that we, the family, regret to announce the passing of Joan Juanita (Wadden) MacGregor on Friday, May 11, 2018 at the Glace Bay Seaview Manor. Born on July 12 in Glace Bay, NS, Joan was the daughter of the Late Josephine and Stanley Wadden.
Joan enjoyed socializing and sharing her time with her family and friends. She loved music and was a proud member of the Coal Town Chorus.
Joan is survived by her son, Jason (Kristine) MacGregor of Calgary, Alberta; sisters, Donna (John) Moores and Mary Binder, both of Glace Bay; brother, Gerald ‘Hubba’ (Sheila) Wadden of Hamilton, ON, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Joan was predeceased by her loving husband, John MacGregor; son, Allan MacGregor; twin sister, Joyce Ross; sister, Pat Muir, and her brother, Foster Wadden.
The family would like to extend a special thank you for the care and compassion shown to Joan at the Seaview Manor, particularly Valerie, who took special care of her.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home, Union Street, Glace Bay. The family will receive visitors from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, May 14. Funeral Services will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church at 11 a.m., May 15 with Reverend Marion Jeffries officiating.
In lieu of Flowers, donations can be made in Joan’s name to St. Mary’s Church.
