Anna D. (Storey) Stewart

Anna D. (Storey) Stewart

Peacefully, with her son, Alan and daughter, Janet by her side, the death occurred at Whisperwood Villa on Saturday, May 19, 2018 of Anna D. (Storey) Stewart, aged 92 and formerly of 144 Mt. Edward Road in Sherwood. The Angels came to bring our wonderful, beloved mother to where she is now able to walk among and enjoy her beloved flower gardens just like the gardens she so lovingly tended for many years at our home in Sherwood. With her gardening skills she won the 1996 “Make Our Hometown Beautiful Award” for the city of Charlottetown. It was something she worked very hard at and was delighted to win it. She immediately had the plaque mounted on the wall of her home. Anna loved her family so much and enjoyed doing many activities with them including picnics, trips to the beach, and walks after supper. A beautiful quality Anna had was when she was invited to go somewhere she was always ready and her children loved that about her. Anna lost her beloved husband and our extra-ordinary father, Harold Cecil Stewart, in 1976 and later became a good friend with the late Malcolm Kennedy of Kensington. Anna was born in Keppoch, P.E. on August 10. 1925, moved to Charlottetown, Trenton, ON, St. Hubert, PQ and finally to Sherwood at the age of 33 years. Anna was a devoted daughter of the late Harold and Myrtle (Stead) Storey. Anna was an exceptional and loving mother to Alan, Charlottetown; Jo Anne (Don Campbell), Barrie, ON and Janet, Dartmouth, N.S. She was sister to Jack (Ginny) Storey of Toledo, Ohio; Eleanor (Harry, dec.) Cook, and David (dec.) (Bonnie) Storey of Toledo Ohio, and Aunt to Maxfield (dec) Cook, Debbie (Morgan), Palmer, Philip (Joy Lynn) Cook, Jeffery (Tammy), (Dr. Mark (dec.) and Scott Storey, Todd, Dale, and Michelle Storey, Charles (Patti) McConnell, of Calgary and Grant (dec.) (Rhonda) McConnell of Vesta, NY., Irene, Terry (Kathy) and Rodney (Jeannie), and Sharon MacKinnon, a kind and devoted friend to many, and a lover of beauty in all of its forms, especially, family, friends, flowers, and horses. Visitation will be at the Belvedere Funeral Home on Friday May 25th from 4-8 p.m. with the funeral being held at Zion Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 26th at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Sherwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Zion Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank the staff, Nurse Bernie and her team at Whisperwood Villa for their kind and exceptional care. www.belvederefh.com
