GEORGE LEBLANC
1923 – 2018
George “Pete” Leblanc passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the age of 95 years. He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Elsie, in March of 2016. George is survived by his four children, Angela (Darren) Cyca of Katepwa Lake, SK, Laura (Bill) Hahn of Quill Lake, SK, Paula James of Kamloops, BC, and Pierre (Shanelle) Leblanc of Prince Albert, SK; and his six grandchildren, Sidney and Quinn Cyca of Regina, SK, Devin Stuart of Calgary, AB, Christopher and Matthew James of Grande Prairie, AB, and his youngest grandchild, Bennett George Leblanc of Prince Albert, SK. Pete worked hard all of his life, first farming with his dad while also working away from home. He served in the army, and worked as a millwright and faller for many winters in BC, then always came back to farming come spring. He farmed in Mistatim until his early semi-retirement at the age of 52 years. After he retired, he had a variety of jobs including helping folks harvest, rink caretaker in the winter, and his last job was a maintenance/landscaping contractor for the seniors housing which he did into his 80’s. Pete and Elsie fully retired to Prince Albert in 2006. They thoroughly enjoyed living in Prince Albert and Pete loved attending the Adult Day Center. After Elsie became ill in 2014, Pete moved to Weldon and lived in assisted living where he loved to garden and do yard work. Pete’s memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at River Park Funeral Home, 301 River Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Interment to follow in the Garden of the Sermon on the Mount, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
