It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we, the family of Nathan Joneil Hanna ‘Joneil’, announce his passing at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, Nova Scotia on June 10, 2018. He was the son of Jennifer Hanna (Steven) and Johnny Parr (Rachel).
Joneil was a proud father to his baby girl Harper and an amazing role model to his brothers and cousins especially little Steve. He was a great friend to many.
In his short life Joneil enjoyed karate, skateboarding and baseball with the extreme enjoyment playing for the Cape Breton Expos. Although sports was his passion he enjoyed playing video games and hanging out with his buddies (Ryan, Cody, Matthew, Stephen R., Ethan, Connor, Stephanie, Sarena and Tyler). Joneil will be greatly missed by his Memorial Composite Family where he attended school. Joneil was family oriented and enjoyed spending time with the ones he loved.
Joneil is survived by his loving mother and best friend, Jennifer (Steven); father, Johnny (Rachel); his pride and joy, Harper (daughter) Madeline; siblings, Ryan, Jordan and Owen; grandparents, Earlene Tighe ‘mum’ (Wally), Steve ‘Da’ (Kim), Peter Rigby (Janie), Dorothy and Kimmy, Betty and Danny (Liz); uncles, Stephen, Ian, Evan, Doug, Zachery and special uncle Freddy; aunts, Bessy (Jessica), Lizzie, Brittany; his many cousins who have always admired and looked up to him, and his life time friend, Harvey Kiley.
Joneil was predeceased by his great-grandparents, Nanny Kay Tighe, Nanny Viney Hanna, Papa Fred Hanna and Papa Neilie MacNeil; his aunt, Margie Parr, and uncles, Wayne Parr and Buddy Tighe.
A special gathering of love will be held at Chant's Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 3 p.m. with reception to follow.
