Whebby, Marie-Paule, Debert 84. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Marie passed away peacefully at the Debert Court Nursing home on June 6, 2018 at the age of 84. Marie was predeceased by her parents Marguerite and Edmund and also her brothers Albeo, George, Robert and Norman Cote. Marie is survived by her loving family; son, James (Krista); daughter, Paula (Eric Sinclair); grandchildren, Amber, Laura, Michelle (Darren) and great grandchildren, Barry and Grace. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Marie was born in Saint-Basile, New Brunswick on July 20, 1933 to Marguerite and Edmund Cote. Marie attended The Hotel Dieu School of Nursing in Edmundston, New Brunswick where she graduated as an RN in 1954. From there she travelled and worked in cities around Canada and the U.S. from Nome, Alaska to Miami Beach, Fla. She met and married her husband, William Joseph Whebby in Miami Beach on March 30, 1958. William preceded her in death in 1997. Marie was a gregarious person who loved to socialize and enjoyed the company of others. Marie and Bill shared a love of dancing and were well known to clear the dance floor as others enjoyed their talents! She was a voracious reader and had a love of food and cooking. She was an example of living life to its fullest and never turned down an opportunity to meet new people or explore new places. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home. Marie's Celebration of Life will be held at the Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St.,Truro on July 20, 2018 at 11am. Please join us to celebrate Marie and trade stories.
