It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edith Tibbitts announce her passing at the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the age of 80 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her son David; sisters: Elizabeth (Ray - deceased) Gallagher, Barbara (George) Hutchings; brothers: Alex Powell, Don (Alison) Powell, Fred (Arleen) Powell, Joe (Norma) Powell; nieces and nephews: Gordon and Brian Powell, Jeffrey and Alan Powell, Tom and Catherine Hutchings, Christopher, Tony and Catherine Gallagher; Aunt Mona Fisher, cousins: Tony and Lynn Fisher, Margaret, Mary and Cathy Dominic, Margaret, Peggy, Dorothy and Patricia Fisher, Lionel, Janet and John Mayo, and numerous grand-nieces and nephews and a host of friends and acquaintances. Edith was predeceased by her husband John Tibbitts; parents Frank and Mary (Fisher) Powell and sister Margaret Powell. A visitation for family and friends will be held from Country Haven Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from the hours of 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 28 from the First United Church, Park St. at 11 am with Rev. John van Vliet officiating. Interment to follow at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, there are no flowers by request, donations can be made to the West Haven Camp or The Margaret Powell Scholarship.
