Noreen Ann Marie Campbell

With saddened and heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Noreen Ann Marie Campbell. She passed away June 25, 2018 at Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by family. Noreen was born on February 26, 1962, the daughter of the late Duncan 'Dick' and Nora (Miller) Campbell of New Waterford.
Noreen worked for 33 years with the Nova Scotia Justice Department. Most recently, she was the Registrar of Probate. Noreen received many awards throughout her career for her dedication, service and commitment. Noreen was a faithful member of the Parish Church of St. Leonard where she loved to sing along with the choir. Noreen enjoyed movies, novels and a good game of tarabish. Most importantly, she loved spending time with family and friends. She was never farther than a phone call away and could always be counted on. Noreen was always an animal lover, especially dogs. Her Shihtzu, 'Kobe' and rescue puppy, 'Misha' brought joy to her every day.
Left to mourn with loving memories are brother, Jerome (Tina) of Sydney; nieces, Jenet Campbell of Halifax and Janelle (Jeff) Osborne of Sydney. She will be fondly remembered by great nephews, Campbell and Logan and great niece, Isabella. Also left to mourn are many cousins and friends.
We would like to thank the doctors and nurses of ICU at Cape Breton Regional Hospital and Dr. Rose MacKay for the wonderful care and compassion they gave Noreen. Also thanks to V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home for their kindness and compassion.
As per Noreen's request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford. A Funeral Mass of celebration will be held on Saturday, June 30 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Father Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at St. Leonard's Parish Hall, Convent Street, New Waterford.
Noreen was no lover of flowers so in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SPCA Cape Breton or Arthritis Society of Canada.
