Date de décès : 18 mai 2018

1930 - 2018
Norma Jane McGrath of Coquitlam, British Columbia passed away peacefully on May 18, 2018. Jane was born in Hampton, White Bay on August 31, 1930. She was predecesed by her parents Sophronia and Harry L. Miller, her husband Frank McGrath, her beloved son Michael, her sister Dorie Vuorela and her two brothers John and Peter Miller, both of Corner Brook. She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann McGrath (Goerzen), Mary Basha, Carolyn Elliott and Judy Best. Jane lived in Howley and Corner Brook and attended high school in Nova Scotia. She trained as a laboratory tech in Saint John New Brunswick and then returned to Corner Brook and worked at the Western Memorial Hospital for many years. Jane started the first Blood Bank in Corner Brook and will probably be best remembered for her passion for drawing your blood as she was determined to keep the Corner Brook Blood bank well stocked. She was an avid skier and hiker. She belonged to the Playmakers Club and was also a self taught great photographer. She and her husband moved to British Columbia in 1962. As a young woman she travelled extensively starting with a hiking trip across Europe. She loved camping and exploring Newfoundland and British Columbia and finally in her later years travelled extensively all over the world. Jane, as the eldest of seven children, often had to take charge of her younger siblings. She was so good to all of us and we will remember her with respect and great kindness. A Service of Remembrance was held for her at the first Memorial Burkeview Chapel in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia.
