Passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, on June 30, 2018, Helen Mary McEvoy (nee Ryan) of Admirals Beach, St. Mary’s Bay, aged 75 years. Predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, John Francis McEvoy (March 21, 2015), parents Xavier and Mary Ryan; brothers Joseph, Patrick, Tony and sister Katherine. Leaving to mourn with broken hearts her seven children: Darlene (Kevin Bennett), Karyn (Jerry Keats), Nora, Leona, Wendy (Allan Roach), Marsha (Tony Watton) and son John; 19 grandchildren: Bailey, Zachary, Alexander, Miranda, Dominic, Xavier, Zatara, Tyeena, Zavanna, Zyerra, Zedric, Tina, Curtis (Laura), Alyssa, Nathan, Christopher, Allan, Chloe, and Jaxon; siblings: Sadie, Cyril (Eva), John (Lucy), Agnes, Walter (Kathie) and Jerome (Charlotte) and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A special thank-you to the nurses and staff at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, who will be remembered for their special care and compassion, as well as her special friends and staff at Alderwood Estates, Witless Bay. An extra special thank-you to her nephew, Rev. Fr. Philip Melvin, for his many visits and prayers and to Fr. Francis Roche for his many prayers, laughter and his nickname for mom as "The Patron Saint of Knitters”. Resting at Queen of Holy Rosary Church, Admirals Beach, on Monday, July 2, from 3-8 pm and Tuesday, July 3, from 2-8 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 4, at 10 am. Cremation to follow.
