Penny (Crawford) Duggan

Pennual Louise “Penny” (Crawford) Duggan, age 84 of Westville passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 as the result of a fire at her home.

Born in Westville , she was a daughter of the late Peter and Beatrice (Garney) Johnstone .

Penny was a member of the Murray Temple Pythian Sisters and the Ladies Auxiliary of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 35 and was a volunteer for the Salvation Army Kettle Campaign.

A caring mother and grand mother Penny will be dearly missed by daughters. Theresa Mills (Larry), Hopewell; Bonnie Cotter (Billy), Lorne; sons Jimmie Crawford (Virginia), Fox Brook; Mark Crawford (Wendy), Westville; Timmy Crawford (Kelly), Riverton and Allan Crawford (who passed away with Penny on Sunday); 20 grand children and 35 great grand children; son-in law Joe MacKay, Lockbroom and chosen daughter Lottie Crockett, Lochbroom.

She is also survived by sisters, Jane Bond, Walkerville; Beatrice Weaver , Halifax; Ida Quesnel, Montreal; brothers, Fraser Johnstone (Lesley), Westville and Paul Johnstone, Linacy.

She was predeceased by her husband James “Buster” Crawford ; daughter Heather MacKay and son Kenneth Crawford as well as sisters Brenda Emilio, Cameal Carlyle, Wanda Morris , Theresa Butler; and Caroline Atwater; brothers Peter “Sonny” and Norman Johnstone.

Penny is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 pm. The funeral service for Penny and her son Allan will be held 2 o’clock Friday from Eagles Funeral Chapel with Major Wayne Pike officiating. Burial will be beside her husband at MacLeod Cemetery. www.eaglesfuneralhome.ca
