Passed peacefully away following a lengthy illness on December 24, 2017 at Pleasantview Towers in St. John’s, NL. Eileen grew up in Heart’s Content, Trinity Bay and eventually moved to St. John’s where she spent many years working for the Provincial Government. Predeceased by her mother Eleanor Bonfield (Anderson), father William Bonfield, and her sister Ann Bonfield. Left with fond memories are her cousins Pam Solursh and family, David Barnes and family; friends Ruby and Tony Kocurko; and long time friend Marg Meaney and family; as well as cousins in NL, ON, BC, and the USA. Many thanks to the very caring staff at Hoyles Escasoni and Pleasantview Towers who have looked after Eileen since she suffered a major stroke in 2013. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Funeral service will follow visitation at 1 p.m. and be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory to a charity of one’s choice would be greatly appreciated.
