Josephine Eliabeth "Peggy" Buchanan
It is with heavy hearts we the family are sadly announcing the passing of our dear mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and sister, Josephine Elizabeth (Peggy) Buchanan. Born in Glace Bay on January 1, 1949, Peggy passed away Monday, July 23, 2018.
Peggy is survived by her daughters, Kelly and Tracey, both of Glace Bay; son, Francis; daughter-in-law, Amy and her two grandchildren, Jacob Francis (Nanny’s boy) and her little sidekick Emma Elizabeth all of Port Caledonia; sisters, Barbara (Pat O’Regan) and Linda (Allen Graham) as well as two nieces. Peggy loved Johnny Reid, spending time with her family and playing with Jacob and Emma.
Besides her mother, Peggy was predeceased by the love of her life, Francis Buchanan Sr., mother Josephine MacDonald; her stepfather, Edward MacDonald and her father and mother-in-law, Victor and Jane Buchanan.
Visitation for Peggy will take place on Thursday July 26, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Patten Funeral Home 71 Union St Glace Bay. Funeral service will be held on Friday July 27, 2018 11 a.m. in Patten Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating, burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
