In his 88th year, passed peacefully away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 in St. John’s. Predeceased by his parents, Rev. T. Malcolm and Emma Smith; sister, Miriam (Levi) Peddle; brother, Clyde Smith (Alice Smith-Wiscombe); sister, Rosalind Stokes (Cyril); brother, Cecil Smith (Susan); sister, Rita Parsons (Abel); Kathleen Goldsworthy (Kenneth). Leaving to mourn children: Lanette (Craig), Gaylene, Jana (Nathaniel), Daryl (Nim), and Barry (Kathy), and their mother, Bernice; grandchildren: Lydia, Ryan, Taylor, Benjamin, Braden, Zachary and Jared; brothers: Rex Smith (May) and Oliver Smith; close companion Mary Short, and family; sisters-in-law Joan Smith, Susan Smith; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Friday, August 3, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will take place from Barrett’s Chapel on Saturday, August 4, time to be announced.
