Alister Joseph Bernard, age 59 of 82 Humes Rear East Loop, Wagmatcook, passed away at the Victoria County Memorial Hospital on August 2, 2018. Born in Baddeck on May 15, 1959, he was the son of the late Lawrence Bernard Sr. and Ida Mae Bernard (Simon) of Wagmatcook.
He was a member of the Wagmatcook church.
He is survived by his only daughter, Chastity Ann Isadore (Armando Tontarelli). Allister had eight grandchildren, Talisha Isadore (Sam), Shawntia Isadore
(Toby), Keonante Isadore, Dante Isadore, Emerson Isadore, Xzorion Isadore, Shawdai Isadore and Haven Tontarelli Isadore; brothers, Rodney Joseph Bernard, Winston Joseph Bernard (Charlotte Bernard); sister, Lorraine Marie Bernard (Francis Bright), all of Wagmatcook. Alister had one godchild, Charlize Bernard (Wagmatcook); four nephews, Jake Bernard, Eskasoni, Edwin Bright, Baddeck, Devon Isadore, Ontario, Winston Bernard Jr. (Tyler); five nieces, Heather Bernard, Waycobah, Natalie Bernard, Sydney, Kathy Bernard (Issac Francis), Madison Bernard, Charlize Bernard.
Visitation will be held at Elders Center, 60 Fishery Rd., Wagmatcook, Tuesday, August 7 starting at 2 p.m. The funeral will be held at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, Wagmatcook, Thursday, August 9 at 10 a.m. with burial to follow in the Queen of the World Cemetery.
