Bruce Reginald Miles
It is with sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Bruce Miles on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney surrounded by loving family. Bruce was a resident of Taigh Na Mara for several years. Born in Glace Bay on April 8, 1948, Bruce was the son of the late Bruce and Theresa (Crowdis) Miles. Bruce was employed in Ontario for several years. When diagnosed with MS, Bruce returned to his roots in Glace Bay. He continued to live comfortably, happy and without complaint. In his younger years, Bruce enjoyed golf, fishing and camping. He enjoyed time with his family, friends and was an avid lover of sports. Despite his MS, Bruce did not consider himself to have a disability. Bruce will always be remembered for his unforgettable laugh and his positive outlook on life. Bruce is survived by his sons, Tyler, Sheldon (Senka), cherished grandson, Luca, siblings, Richard, Eunice, Darrell (Deborah) and Charmaine. Also surviving are 5 nieces and 3 nephews. There will be no visitation for Bruce. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at Holy Cross Church, Glace Bay with Fr. Norman MacPhee officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. Interment will be in St. Leo's Cemetery. Donations in Bruce's memory may be made to the MS Society.
