1930 - 2018
On August 23, 2018, our loss became Heaven’s gain on August 23, 2018 when our precious mother, Mavis Jean (Smith) Suley, aged 88 years, passed away at Carbonear Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband George Suley, her son Calvin George Suley, her sister Shirley Sheppard (Harvey), brothers G. Randell Smith (Hilda), Harold Smith (Alma), and Arthur (Ted) Smith, and her parents Arthur and Daisy Smith, brothers-in-law Joseph Suley (Isabel), Gordon Suley and Arthur Suley (Margaret). Left with fond and loving memories are her three daughters Sandra Russell (Dereck), Marilyn Rees (Irwin), Rhonda Fowler (Calvin) and son Terrance Suley (Faith), six grandchildren Craig Russell (Trudy), Stephen Russell (Sarah), Gillian Suley (Andy), Terry Suley, Christopher Suley and Ryan Fowler, seven great-grandchildren Alex, Noelle, Emma, Leah, Ethan, Blake and Carly, also her brothers Kevin Smith (Bernice), Albert Smith (Doreen) and Robert Smith (Joan) and sister-in-law Margaret (Peggy) Smith and sister-in-law, Shirley Hollett, plus large circle of nieces, nephews, her church family and many friends. Resting at Holloway’s Funeral Home, 17 Cabot Ave. Whitbourne, Visitation on Friday 7-9 pm and Saturday 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A celebration of her life will be held at Trinity United Church Sunday at 2 pm, with interment to follow in the Whitbourne United Church Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to her beloved church, Trinity United or to the Whitbourne Cemetery Fund. No Flowers by request.
