OGILVIE BEER, Mary Judith (Nee GREEN) peacefully and surrounded by loved ones at home on Friday, August 31st at the age of 73 following a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. Beloved wife to the late Henry Beer; loving mother to Richard and Paul; doting Nana to Esmé, Henry and Felix, and partner to Tawzer, Judi also took great pride in being a steadfast and devoted friend. A proud daughter of Cape Breton, Judi was born in North Sydney N.S. to the late Percival and Imogene (Gillis) Green before moving to Montreal and finally settling in Toronto. After years in the fashion industry as a buyer, Judi ran a successful children’s wear agency for over 30 years, representing national and international brands. Nothing brought Judi joy like entertaining, and she always relished the chance to welcome friends and family around her table and share a story. In lieu of a funeral, Judi requested a ‘great big party, with good food and music’.
