Passed peacefully away at home in the presence of her loving family on Thursday, September 6, 2018, Maureen Patricia O’Leary of Holyrood (formerly of Montreal). Predeceased by her parents: Jim and Cecilia (Healey) O’Leary and her brother Jimmy O’Leary. She will be dearly missed by her brother Patrick and his wife, Jeannie, with whom she resided, and their children Janie (Ryan Kirk), Cassie (Joel Whelan) and Patrick Jr., her devoted God-son. Also missing her deeply are her sister Margie and brother-in-law, Rocco Smeriglio and their children Rocco and Tara; her brother Michael and sister-in-law Joanne and their children Matthew (Yasmin & great-niece Isobel), Caterina and Shannon; her kind-hearted cousins Tom and Aggie O’Mara; and her special friend Tanya Hickey. Maureen was an enthusiastic member of the CBS Special Olympics Club and treasured her friends and coaches and proudly displayed her bowling and bocce medals. A special thank you to Dr. Patti Power and her team, the staff of the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center as well as the doctors and nurses of Interventional Radiology at HSC; please know that your compassionate care and kindness brought peace and comfort to both Maureen and her family. Resting at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood with visitations on Saturday, September 8th from 2 – 4 pm & 7 – 9 pm, and on Sunday, September 9th from 12 – 4 pm with a memorial service to take place at Dunphy’s Chapel from 4 – 5 pm.
