It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Carl Turnbull, age 45, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on September 10, 2018 with his loving wife, Eliza and his father and best friend John Neil by his side.
Carl used more strength and courage than could be imagined in his battle with cancer.
Born on June 2, 1973, in Glace Bay, he was the son of John Neil Turnbull and the late Gail Turnbull.
Carl worked locally and out west in construction. He always showed great kindness to others and shared what he had with everyone he knew. Carl had a great sense of humour, could not be compared to another. He had a great love of animals and his family meant everything to him.
Besides his father, John Neil, Carl is survived by his loving wife, Eliza (MacIntyre) Turnbull; his step children, Candice (Elliott) and Katelyn (Brogan); his grandchildren, Braiden, Leigha, Lincoln and Olivia; his brothers, Neil and John T.; sister, Sonya (Ted); his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as a special friend, Corrie McDonald and the friends who have lightened the suffering along the way.
Besides his mother Gail, he was predeceased by his brother, Jamie Turnbull.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2018 at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199). Reception to follow.
