Mario Facchin, age 79, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the CBRH, Sydney. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Angelo and Carmella Facchin.
Mario was known in the community as a tradesman and worked for Meco Construction for many years. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan and enjoyed spending time in his man shed in the backyard. He will be sadly missed by many family and friends.
Mario is survived by his daughters, Ann Marie and Valerie (Bernie) Windsor; brothers, John (Catherine) and Valley (Anne); sister, Anita Helm; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Ann; sister, Elda Veri and brother-in-law, Warren Helm.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 27, 2018 with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. (902-849-4199). Burial to follow in St. Eugene’s Cemetery, Dominion.
