Melvin Augustine Tremblett

We regret to announce the peaceful passing of Melvin Tremblett, age 72, on Monday, October 29, 2018 at the Northside General Hospital. Born in Sydney Mines on May 21, 1946, he was the son of the late Sidney and Ella Mae (LeBlanc) Tremblett.
Melvin was coal miner for 32 years before his retirement. He enjoyed watching the fishermen during lobster season from the banks and shores around Sydney Mines. He was an active member of the Sydney Mines Seniors and Pensioners Club, where he had so many special friends. He and Lucy Campbell (his long-time companion of 9 years), enjoyed going to the dances every week, spending time together and enjoying life.
Special thanks to the Northside Homemakers, The VON, and the staff of 5 East at the Northside General Hospital. Also, his many doctors, the Cape Breton Cancer Center, and his long-time family doctor, Dr. Andrew Wawer.
He will be sadly missed by his children, Melvin Jr. (Jed) (Liz), John (Brenda) and Laurie, all of Sydney Mines; his grandchildren, Samantha, Gabrielle and Wendy, and his great-grandchildren, Jayda, Kyler and Spencer. Also left to mourn are his brothers, Terry (Sandra), Ernie (Frances), Gussy (Linda) and Paul (Cathy Ann); his sisters, Gerry, Shirley, Carol Ann (Alonzo), Donna (Joe) and Colleen (Peter); sister-in-law, Annie Mae; brother-in-law, Will, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Melvin was predeceased by wife of 40 years and mother of his children, Olive (Bradley) Tremblett; his siblings, Sidney (Sonny), Silvia, Jane and Leroy (Darky); sister-in-law, Eileen; brothers-in-law, Bert and John, and a sister, Lena, at birth.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will take place Thursday, November 1, 2018, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family church, Sydney Mines, with Fr.
