It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our loved one Connie Paul, 56, of Membertou, on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the QE11 Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Connie is the daughter of Voila (Nash) Paul and the Late John William Paul of Membertou. She was employed as Coordinator of the OHS-EMO Department with the Membertou Band. It was through Connie’s hard work and dedication that all the children were safe and enjoyed Halloween night by making sure every corner had a crossing guard.
Connie was the founder of the annual Christmas Ginger Bread House Lighting and Parade. She made sure all the children from the community and surrounding area received a gift from Santa. Connie was known as “Big Momma” to all who knew and loved her especially the children of the community.
Left to mourn besides her mother is her children, Brendan "Deebo" Paul and Annette (Tim) Cremo; sisters, Lois (David) McKay of Gage Town, New Brunswick, Shirley Christmas, Gloria Christmas, Anita Paul, Joyce (Gordie) Paul and Emily (Kevin) Paul; brothers, Anthony-Ike (Elizabeth) Paul, James Clifford Paul and Calvin "Jip" Paul all of Membertou.
Also left to mourn, Connie’s partner, Terry Candelora; godchildren, Shane Paul and Malori Paul. Also, a large number of nieces, nephews and friends especially, Eldon Matthews, Stevie Doucette and Wilma.
Connie was predeceased by her father; her son, Dale Michael Paul; her former partner, Jim James Cull; sisters, Palma MacDonald, Lena Marie Paul, Grace Wanda Paul, Beverly Ann Paul and Emma Ann Paul; and godparents, Simon Marshall Sr. and Ethel Paul.
Connie will always be remembered for her sense of humor, her dedication to others and her beautiful smile.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 7 p.m. at the home of her mother at 36 Gallagher St., Membertou.
Funeral service will be held Monday, November 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys with Fr. Bill Burke officiating. Interment to follow at a later date.
