David Leslie "Les" Porter

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of David Leslie “Les” Porter, age 63 on Tuesday, October 30th, 2018 at his residence in Glace Bay.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Thomas Edward and Delores May (Dunlop) Porter.
Les worked in the fisheries in his younger days. He was an avid fisherman. Les enjoyed playing cards and shooting pool at the Army/Navy/Air Force and Branch No. 3 Legion, Glace Bay with all his buddies and special friend and neighbour, Darrell. Les will be remembered as a very compassionate man.
Les is survived by his three brothers, Robert (Annette), Donny and Darrell (Sandra) Porter as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Les was predeceased by his brother, Walter; sister, Barbara and a brother-in-law, Gerry.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held this Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. There will be no funeral service.
