It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rachel Mary Maxwell on November 13, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Rachel passed peacefully surrounded by her immediate family and friends.
Born on October 1, 1933 in Sydney Mines, NS, she spent most of her life in Cape Breton, a place she loved dearly.
Rachel was a beautiful lady, both inside and out. She touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her favorite pastimes were shopping, dining, and enjoying family time. She was an incredibly loving wife to Jack, her devoted husband of 46 years. Most of all, she was a proud, wonderful mother who adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Rachel was predeceased by her daughter, Charmaine, and her parents, Emma and George Crowther.
At her request, there will be no visitation and cremation has taken place at McAdam’s Funeral Home, Fredericton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Rachel’s honor may be made to a cancer charity of your choice.
