It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Peter William Buchanan, age 72, announce his passing on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Buchanan Memorial Hospital in Neil’s Harbour.
Born in Black Point on December 26, 1945, Peter was the son of the late William and Marcella (Mackinnon) Buchanan.
Peter traveled and lived in Hamilton for many years, and later moved back to Cape Breton, where he made a living fishing in his hometown of St. Margaret’s Village. He also enjoyed playing 45’s and cribbage.
Peter is survived by his daughter, Angel (Archibald); Angel’s mom, Carmelita; his grandchildren, Kayla (Winston), Kelsey (Martin), Nathan (Dominique), Nicholas; four great-grandchildren, Autumn, Sawyer, Karriane and Renelle; siblings, John (Barb), Christy, Joe (Jessie), Theresa (late Robert), Margaret (late Percy), Stanley (Patsy), Florence (Wilfred,) Helen (Phillip), David (Alounda), Blair (Debbie), Byrdman, Wilma (Carl), Marie (Frank); sister-in-law, Anna Buchanan, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Peter was predeceased by brother, Paulie; infant Simon; nephew, Joey; niece, Renee; nephew, Robbie, and nephew, Dougie.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral.
A graveside service will be held on December 1, 2018, at 2 p.m.
