Peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, November 16, 2018 of Gertie Power of West Royalty in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Tom Power. Dear mother of Helen (Zoel) Arsenault, Tom (Hilda), Reg (Josie), Kathy (Wade) Johnson and Carol (Mike) LeClair. Loving Nanny of Jamie MacLean, Kennedy and Dawson Power, Brandon and Kaylee Johnson, Sarah, Sam and Sophie LeClair. Gertie is also lovingly remembered by siblings, Peg (Petie) McInnis, John (Betty), Danny (Donna), Aiden, Aggie, Mary Peters (Wayne); sisters-in-law Isabel, Viola, Doris, Josie, Annie and brother-in-law Eddie. She was also predeceased by siblings Joe, Frank, Hughie, Eddie, Theresa, Gerard; sisters-in-law Mary, Helen and brother-in-law Leo. Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home until Friday, then transferred to St. Eugene’s Roman Catholic Church, Covehead for funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the Parish Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association (PEI) or the PEI Lung Association.
