The death occurred peacefully at Margaret Stewart Ellis Home, O’Leary, Wednesday, November 21, 2018 of Bertha Mary Gallant of O’Leary aged 92. Bertha was born in Roseville on September 23, 1926, daughter of the late Joseph and Annie (Perry) Gaudin. Cherished mother to Joanne (Pat) Bernard, Hamilton, ON; Charlie (Helen) McCarthy, Campbellton; Sandra Wood (Alan Jay), Charlottetown; Norman (Andrea), Hamilton, ON; Mary (Eric) Perry, St Louis. Step-mother to Hazel Richards, Alberton; Jean (Clarence) Clements, Campbellton; David (Linda) Gallant, Felicia Gallant, Rene Gallant, Denis (Mary) Gallant, Paula (Clark) Baglole and Mark (Dianne) Gallant. Mother in law to Morgan Ellsworth and Rosalee McCarthy. Loving grandmother to 18 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. Sister to Rosie Wilson, Ottawa, ON and Theresa (Bert) Massy, Ottawa, ON. Bertha was predeceased by her parents, her first husband Justin McCarthy (1988) and second husband Oscar T. Gallant (1996), daughters Stella Gallant, Peggy Ellsworth, step-children Irene (Garfield) Ellis, Reg McCarthy, Joe McCarthy, Betty Potter, Grandchildren Francis and Steven and brothers and sister Yvonne, Jardine, Frank, Crawford and Gus. Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary with visiting hours on Friday evening 6-9pm and Saturday until 10 am then to St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church Woodstock for funeral Mass at 10:30 am.
