Aleta Isabel Young

Aleta Isabel Young

It is with extreme sadness and sense of loss that we, the family, announce the passing of Aleta Isabel Young, a wonderful loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Aleta passed away on November 25, 2018 at the An Cala Unit of the CBRH, surrounded by her family. Born in Glace Bay in 1945, Aleta was the youngest daughter of the late James R. and Frances (MacCormack) MacDonald. Aleta was completely devoted to her family, always there when needed. She looked forward to the after-school visits from her cherished granddaughter, Alexa which was a highlight of her day. She enjoyed her annual vacation trips to the Caribbean until ill health prevented her from doing so. Her wonderful sense of humour, kindness and compassion for others will be greatly missed. Left to mourn her passing are her loving husband, John; daughters, Rachelle (Aaron) MacIsaac, Glace Bay, and Deanna (Jason Daix), Porter’s Lake, and the most precious granddaughter, Alexa MacIsaac; brothers, J. David (Eleanor), Halifax, and Clary (Ann), Glace Bay, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Aleta was predeceased by her sister, Muriel and brother, Paul.
As per Aleta’s request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has already taken place and a private burial will be held. The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff of the An Cala Unit for the care and support provided to Aleta during her illness. Donations in Aleta’s memory may be made to the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton, the Cape Breton Cancer Centre or a charity of your choice.
