It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Margaret Williams, age 79, on Sunday, December 16, 2018, with her sons by her side.
Born in South Harbour on September 14, 1939, Margaret was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Effie Fitzgerald.
Mom was a “wicked” dart player who loved to compete in tournaments. She also loved her card games. Mom was a baker by trade, and even after she retired, people would call her looking for bread.
Mom will be sadly missed by two boys, Glen (Sheila) and Blaine (Laura); two grandchildren, Matthew and Sarah; siblings Julie (Ray) Daisley and Brian (Rose) Fitzgerald; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Albert; brothers, Stanley, John, Michael and Allister; and her sister, Josie.
Her family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of Buchanan Memorial Hospital, the Home Care staff, and Palliative Care.
Visitation for Margaret Williams will take place on Thursday, December 20, 2018, from 10 – 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Parish Church, Ingonish Beach.
The funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. in the church, with Fr. Alphonsus Iwuji officiating. A reception will follow in the Parish Centre.
Fly High Mom. We will miss you so much, but you’re at peace now and we know that you are with Dad who is probably strumming a tune on his guitar for you.
