BOUCHER, GERMAINE - Germaine Boucher, 73, wife of the late Guy Boucher (2003), formerly of Grande-Digue (Shediac-River), passed away on Saturday, May 28 2011 at the O’Bons Soins residence following a lengthy illness. Born September 5, 1937 in Cocagne, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Yvonne (Richard) Leger. Adopted daughter of Émile P. Léger of Grande-Digue. She started her career at the Bank of Montréal and was employed at the Banque Nationale in Shediac prior to her retirement. Germaine was also a member of the Grande-Digue Institut feminin, the Golden Age Club, the Historic Society of Grande-Digue. She was also a pastoral health committee member, and volunteered for many various organizations. She was one of the Golden Girls at the CJSE Radio Beausejour. She will be sadly missed by her three daughters: Yvette Richard (Rhéal) of Cocagne, Françoise Boucher of Moncton and Lucie Boucher (Bob Doucet) of Grand-Barachois; two sons: Jean-Guy (Jacinthe) of Saint-Antoine and Françis (Germaine) of Haute-Aboujagane; three sisters: Marguerite Goguen (Bernard) of Dieppe, Angela Leger (Paul-Émile) of Grande-Digue, and Jeannine Savoie (late Agapit) of Shediac; two brothers: Antoine Leger (Hartance) and Valmond Leger (Aldea) of Cocagne, two grandchildren: Mathieu and Stéphanie; step grandchildren Richard, Michel and Martine and also many nieces, and nephews.
The family will be receiving condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297). Visiting hours will be Tuesday, May 31st 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, also Wednesday, June 1st 2011 from 2 to 4. Funeral mass will be celebrated at La Visitation R.C. Church, Grande-Digue on Wednesday, June 1st, 2011 at 7 pm. There will be no visitation prior to the funeral. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
