Passed peacefully away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, December 29, 2018, Lawrence Thomas O’Keefe, aged 80 years. Leaving to mourn his long-time partner Bernadette Mahoney, sons Larry (Dorothy), Craig (Peggy), Robert (Janine), daughter Joanne (Kirk White) and the mother of his children Helen (Nellie) O’Keefe. Also leaving to mourn his grandchildren Adam, Stephen, Ryan, Zachary, Sara, Joshua, Marc, Hunter and Morgan, as well as his newborn great-grandchildren Ben and Connor, and his only remaining sister Mary Mondou (Marcel and special niece Michelle), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents William and Mary (nee Butler), sisters Marcella O’Keefe, Agnes O’Keefe, Patricia Wight, Loretta Pentzer, Bernadette Bird, Anne Kearney, Margaret Nolette and Isabelle Birkeland. Never complaining during his battle with cancer, when asked how he was doing, his response was always, “Pretty Good”. Special thanks to all his doctors and nurses who showed compassion and kindness during his care. He will be missed by current and former employees of City Paving Limited & City Sand and Gravel Limited, as well as his friends doing his favorite past-time of salmon fishing on the Gander and Eagle Rivers. A kind and thoughtful man is no longer living among us. His kindness will live on through his family and the many individuals and organizations he helped throughout his lifetime. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, visitation on Wednesday, January 2nd from 5-9, and Thursday, January 3rd from 2-9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Pius X Catholic Church, Smithville Crescent on Friday, January 4th at 1:15 p.m. Private Inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery at a later date.
