It is with great sadness that the family of Lorne Finley, of Halifax, announce his passing on December 30, 2018 at the age of 96. Born on June 30, 1922 in Cambridge, PEI, he was the son of J. Russell and Lillian(Graham) Finley. Lorne spent his early years in the Montague area moving to Charlottetown to attend Prince of Wales College, after which he began his career at CFCY Radio. Working 14 years with CFCY Lorne then moved to Halifax to work for CBC TV until his retirement at age 65. Lorne leaves behind two daughters, Priscilla (Gary Crowther, Halifax and Karen (Ged Downey) Finley, Halifax. Two grandchildren Leanne Crowther (Tyler) Marchant, Okotoks, Alberta and Nicholas Crowther, Barrhead, Alberta. Three Great Grandchildren Emily and William Marchant and Shelby Crowther. Brother-in-law Roy Tallentire, England and numerous cousins and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Babs; sister Pearl Tallentire, England; sister-in-law Priscilla Walker and brother-in-law Howard Walter, Stratford, PEI. Visitation is Friday, January 4th from 7-9 pm. The Funeral service will be held on January 5th at 2pm with a reception to follow.
